It’s definitely a weird time to celebrate anything, including Valentine’s Day. Some are opting for date night at home, while others are headed out for a nice meal and date night on the town with their significant other. Whatever you’re doing, wherever you end up… what are the odds music will be included? Probably pretty high.
I included a few of my favorite love songs to influence your Valentine’s Day playlist… or your list of songs to learn at the piano.
It’s such a CLASSIC! It’s one we’ve heard for years and years… but I bet you didn’t know that you could play the refrain with only four chords! I’ve attached a screenshot from a version on Ultimate Guitar’s website below:
What better song to relive the same emotions that came with falling in love with your significant other? This song is considered the hardest song to master in the entire Phantom of the Opera musical— and that’s a two and a half-hour musical!
It’s a more recent love song (2014) dedicated to John Legend’s wife, Chrissy Teigen. This song spent 23 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, so you know it’s a great song!
The entire song uses only 6 chords— you can find lead sheets for this song for cheap online, or go to your favorite website that has the chords for the song and figure out the melody on your own!
Elvis recently had a birthday, so what better song to say “I love you” than one from the King himself? This song has been a hit since it came out in late 1956 and if one thing is apparent… the King’s music is still a favorite, all these years later.
Aerosmith introduced rock and roll to romance in this 90s hit song. It was also featured in Armageddon, which was the top-grossing film of 1998.
Have you ever been so in love with someone, you don’t want to miss seeing a smile of theirs or make time with them last infinitely longer? If so, this is the perfect song for Valentine’s Day.
